About Filip
From struggling with Algebra to achieving the highest grade in my most recent Calculus 2 class, I have experienced both the challenges and the joys of learning. I understand firsthand what it takes to overcome obstacles and succeed.
To me, tutoring goes beyond simply imparting knowledge in its basic form; it's about forging meaningful connections and delving into the greatest ideas that have shaped human history. Unfortunately, in many educational institutions, math loses its human touch and becomes a dreary, memory-intensive, and repetitive exercise. However, I firmly believe that mathematics is not just a rigid set of procedures to follow; it's an exploration that allows us to develop intuition and discover solutions through trial and error.
As a tutor, I recognize that every student faces unique challenges. My approach isn't to force-feed information but to empower students to become explorers themselves. Mathematics, at its core, involves decision-making, problem-solving, and nurturing innate curiosity and intuition. The typical arduous lecture style inhibits these essential aspects of learning and hinders the essence of mathematics.
Through private tutoring, my aim is to bring back the humanity and art of problem-solving to the subject. I want my students to view math as an opportunity for exploration, where they actively seek out the trail and the hidden treasures it leads to. By embracing this perspective, I believe my students will not only grasp mathematical concepts but also develop a lifelong love for learning and discovery.
