About Mya
My name is Mya, and I am a student at the University of Washington, studying environmental engineering. I currently tutor Mathematics, from grade school all the way up to college level Calculus. Additionally, I am able to assist in Chemistry course work. I have experience tutoring in-person at student's homes, in addition to remote tutoring services. Through my course work I have successfully finished at the top of my classes, such as Calculus I-III and General Chemistry. I have many tips and tricks in my arsenal and intend to share them with my students. I love sharing my enthusiasm for math and science and demonstrating the many applications STEM has in world outside of academia.

As a lover of math and science, it brings me joy to help students master these subjects. As a tutor I enjoy working one-on-one with students to understand these areas of study, while also forming a friendship along the way. My number one priority is to help my students learn and grow but trailing very closely to this is having fun! After our first session, we will set a long-term goal for the course, in addition to short term intentions for each session. Aside from understanding coursework topics, I prioritize test-taking strategies. As a student, you take a lot of tests! Being able to solve a homework problem in the comfort of your room is vastly different to taking an exam with tricky problems. With this in mind, I strongly emphasize working on challenging problems together, followed by mini quizzes to assess your understanding or gaps in learning. Building a tool kit to approach problems is something I strive to achieve with my students, so when an exam rolls around, they feel comfortable at attacking problems. I hope I get the pleasure of working with you!
