About Robert

I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and bring over ten years of professional experience in the power industry, along with experience supporting students in college preparation and test readiness. I apply the analytical rigor, precision, and problem-solving mindset of an engineer to every online tutoring session in physics, calculus, and chemistry.

I have worked with students preparing for college-level coursework, AP classes, and standardized exams, helping them strengthen both conceptual understanding and problem-solving speed. My instruction emphasizes correct methodology, clear reasoning, and strategic thinking—skills that are essential for strong performance on exams as well as long-term academic success.

I approach tutoring with a high level of professionalism, reliability, and preparation. Lessons are well-structured and goal-oriented, and I adapt my teaching to each student’s academic level and objectives. Students and families can expect technically accurate instruction, thoughtful guidance, and a tutor who is committed to helping students feel confident and prepared for the next academic step.

My approach as a tutor is focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than memorizing procedures. I use a concept-first, problem-solving approach rooted in my engineering background and aim to show students why formulas work and how to apply them confidently in new situations. I emphasize logical reasoning, clear explanations, and connections between calculus, physics, and chemistry.

A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in to identify what feels confusing or challenging. From there, I walk through guided examples, ask targeted questions, and work through practice problems together. I encourage students to explain their thinking, and I adjust the pace and focus based on each student’s needs. I end each lesson by reviewing key ideas and strategies students can use on their own.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to break down complex, abstract topics into clear, manageable steps, often using real-world engineering applications to make ideas more concrete. My online lessons are structured, interactive, and supportive, helping students build both confidence and independent problem-solving skills.

My lessons are designed for high school and early college students taking physics, calculus, or chemistry, including honors, AP, and introductory college-level courses. I work especially well with students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or want a deeper understanding to improve performance and long-term mastery.
