About Melissa
I have a bachelors in English Language Arts Education grades 7 through 12, and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Bowling Green State University. I have taught in Ohio, New York, and Tennessee over the last 15 years. I routinely score 5’s on my professionalism and instruction evaluations, which is the highest an educator can score, and my students’ state test scores are regularly on-track or above the average scores for both my district and the state. I have helped mentor new teachers, been a district lead teacher, and have completed my district’s professional leadership academy. When teaching, I implement all of my experience and strategies to make sure I’m being the most effective teacher possible.

I believe in teaching students in a way that appeals to and engages them, making learning accessible to everyone. I have fun and high-interest activities to keep it fresh each session while also making meaningful lessons with the content you need. I have lots of experience teaching Middle and high school English, literature, and journalism courses and am a level 5 teacher in Tennessee, so you know you’re getting quality sessions every time!
