About Sritama
Hi! I’m a Sociology student at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, with 3–4 years of experience teaching English. I was a school topper in Class 12, scoring 100 in History, and have since developed my academic interests through research, writing and three published works. I have also worked as an editor in Telegraph, giving me extensive experience with writing, proofreading and textual refinement.
My classes cover grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, academic and creative writing, literature, spoken English and communication. I use a personalized, discussion-led approach rather than relying on rote learning or a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
Coming from sociology, I approach language through the lens of critical inquiry. We use close reading, textual analysis and contextual interpretation to understand not only what a text says, but how and why it says it. Students learn to construct arguments, question assumptions and articulate their ideas with precision.
Whether your goal is academic excellence, examination preparation, stronger writing, confident communication or simply a deeper engagement with English, my aim is to develop more than linguistic proficiency. I want you to leave with clarity of thought, confidence of expression and the ability to have something worth saying.
