About Katie
I’m a friendly and patient tutor, interested in how children learn and develop. I’m passionate about creating a positive learning experience where children feel confident, supported, and able to progress at their own pace. Working in a school following the Finnish curriculum has definitely inspired my approach to teaching. Here I got to see the value of learning through play and a child-centered teaching approach, which has influenced my own approach massively. I find teaching such a rewarding way to help children build foundations, gain confidence in English, and develop a genuine enjoyment for learning.

My name is Katie and I’m a tutor with a BSc in Psychology and a TESOL Qualification, with experience supporting children's learning in both classroom and one to one settings.
I have worked in a school following the Finnish curriculum, using a play based, child centred approach to make learning engaging and accessible. My teaching style focuses on interactive, structured lessons that build confidence and are adapted to each child’s pace, usually lasting an hour.
I have experience tutoring phonics, early reading and writing and spoken English, as well as teaching ESL classes to help children develop their communication skills through games, repetition and practical speaking activities.
My lessons are mainly based for children aged 3-12, designed to build strong foundations in English in a supportive and encouraging environment.
