About Julieta
I am currently enrolling in the Literary and Technical-Scientific Translator at the Instituto Superior Lenguas Vivas (Posadas). My relationship with English already has 16 years of development. The first 4 were with a native English speaking teacher, who got me started on the language through grammar steeped in literature. Then, I did 2 years of Translating in English, and the last almost 10 years have been of self-taught learning, through online resources and my teaching practice in private academies. Currently my level is C2 in written comprehension and C1 in oral comprehension. My personal practice at the moment is focused on orality and writing, but I have not yet had a chance to be evaluated on those skills. It is part of what I seek to develop by deepening my knowledge in translation. I have practiced teaching in private classes and private academies since 2010, accompanying the learning processes of children from 3 years old to people over 60. (My first job in the academy was with my native speaking teacher, so I continued receiving instruction on his part for another 4 years). In addition, I have experience in translation of study material, academic papers and subtitles of audiovisual productions from the university of my city.

I believe, both from theory and from practice, that significant learning happens when a link is generated between the person (their ideas, emotions, experiences, prior knowledge) and the knowledge that they want to acquire. I consider that each process is personal and unique, that is why I encourage and accompany students to discover their motivations, define objectives and diagram a system that allows them to establish their relationship with English, through practice and exposure to it. I work from texts according to the interests of each student, explanatory videos and "real life", audios, songs, literature. I can provide exercise material and vocabulary cards in pdf format if printing is available. We can also work with digitized books. The topics to be covered are defined according to the expectations of the students, and are oriented according to the Cambridge curricular proposal. I recommend daily personal practices, such as keeping a journal or exercising through selected apps, as well as many other resources that I have been acquiring in my self-taught journey. We can arrange "homework" assignments to continue practice between classes. ✽The classes can be TOTALLY IN ENGLISH OR WITH EXPLANATIONS IN SPANISH, according to the preference of each student.✽ EXTRA: ☆ I love traveling ... physically and through knowledge, that is why I also love the English language as a bridge to new cultures and experiences. The resources are generally oriented to this virtue of English, trying to serve to expand our knowledge and enjoyment of the whole world, while we develop the command of the language. ♪♪ I also love SINGING, so I feel very comfortable working from songs, and I can accompany singers who want to focus on pronunciation and expanding their repertoire towards songs in English. We can work directly on the songs you want to learn! I OFFER: * Personalized classes to deepen your command of the language, from beginners to advanced intermediate. * Personalized classes to develop vocabulary management in specific areas of the arts, social and human sciences, natural sciences. * School support or exam preparation for initial, primary and secondary level. Perfect! Juli, fue súper organizada con la clase. Desde un primer momento, identificamos cuales eran mis objetivos y cómo vamos a trabajar para alcanzarlos.
Además, me dio muchos tips de app/libros/videos que puedo utilizar para mejorar mi idioma.
Muy entretenida la clase.Perfect! Juli es una genia, desde la primera clase preparo absolutamente cada detalle. Arma clases con temas de interés personal para captar más la atención y facilitar el proceso de aprendizaje. Explica cada tema, incluye tareas con diversos recursos (videos, texto, música, podcast) el documento en Drive es lo máximo, ademas es súper amable y divertida! Recomiendo tomar clases con Juli!
- ¡Las clases con Mati son geniales! Él es un alma viajera, así que los encuentros se vuelven realmente interesantes conectando contenidos de vocabulario o gramática con anécdotas de viajes y experiencias de vida. Estoy tomando clases hace varios meses ya y vamos super. Ella hace mucho incapie en la pronunciación y eso para mi es clave para hacerse entender. Se preocupa porque los topics de estudio sean de mi interes. La verdad recomiendo a Julieta, muy buena profesora de ingles.
