About Jennifer
I have taught English and other humanities courses for 31 years to students ranging from grade 6 through college. My most recent position was as an Associate Professor of English where I tutored students individually along with my classroom teaching in essay composition, argumentation and rhetoric, literature, and developmental English. As a high school educator earlier in my career, I was certified in English and history education. I coached forensics and debate and drama as well!

My teaching method is traditional and effective. I collaborate with students to establish learning goals. I then evaluate the student's skills and competencies, so I can develop a learning plan that will help students reach their goals. Typically, I ask students to provide a writing sample and/or response to literature for evaluation, and then conference with me about their academic experiences. In this way I begin to build an effective learning relationship.

As a previous student in her English Composition II class, I highly recommend Jennifer as a teacher. She encourages her students to think and analyze what they read. She urges the student to express themselves in their writing while maintaining excellence in grammar and using proper sentence structure.
I have been a teaching colleague of Jennifer's for 6 years. Her lesson planning, implementation, and connection with and support of students are all excellent.
Jennifer is a colleague. She is knowledgeable in writing and thinking and works to improve her knowledge every chance she gets. This is because Jennifer is very student oriented. She is not afraid to try new things with students if she feels what she has used before is not working. She is always looking to do what is best for student learning.
