About Richard
Growing up, I was always noted for being a serious-minded individual. Certainly, I was just that. I graduated in the top range of my class in my required studies, and I pursued all further education with a strong zeal to absorb as much as possible in order to further my opportunities in life. I am noted still to this day as a communicative individual who is articulate and knows how to behave properly and professionally, never quick to presume things and willing to understand. But, interestingly, I had to learn that it wasn't enough. In my life, I have had to learn also the importance of inner faith in myself and my talents, understanding that while I don't know everything in life, I do know some things that I can impart to others and make their lives better. That's why I love teaching. In the end, I am not just a professional. I am the cheerleader. I am the seeker.

My technique, both in formal and informal situations, is to work with what one already knows and then enhance one's abilities linguistically through a series of role plays and active exercises. I tailor all my lessons to the individual with the goal of improving and encouraging the trainee. With five years of experience as a business English instructor along with 10+ years of public speaking, I have helped numerous to navigate their way in business and conversational settings. I am noted for being a professional instructor while proving also to be an understanding mentor who imparts confidence, something that is deeply needed in language learning. I have mainly taught adults who have worked in a variety of professions from office to administrative management, but I am flexible to whoever loves to learn and take on a challenge. Trainees walk away from my lessons educated and encouraged. .............................................

Perfect! My husband Sojam has been taking lessons from Rick for the past 3 months. Rick is an exceptional English teacher. He is not only knowledgeable and creative but also incredibly funny, making each lesson a joy. He also has an intuitive understanding of how to adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs. Sojam’s first language is Tibetan, and Rick goes above and beyond by including Tibetan videos, translations, and scripts in every lesson, which isn’t an easy task as it is a rather uncommon language. Sojam has benefited a lot from Rick’s approach and is always looking forward to his classes. Highly recommend!
