I have studied both English Literature and History at a high level for 5 years and am now studying both at a degree level too. As I am in first year I have plenty of free time to do private tutoring sessions.

I would mainly use an exercise based methodology, by getting the student to preform exercises based on whatever field they need help with. I would also use examples of close reading in the case of English Literature to study texts and passages.
