About Ian
I am an educator and recent master's graduate who has been working in tutoring and after-school education for over three years. I have taught students from kindergarten up to adults going back to college for second-career education. I have also completed thesis work for my master's degree and am equipped to provide guidance and advice for this process going forward. If it involves writing, I am here for you.

I firmly believe in the maieutic method of tutoring: my students have insights and ideas to share before I ever meet them and I am here to encourage those insights into fruition. My method follows a broad brainstorming-advice-brainstorming pattern as I ask my students prompting questions and actively listen to their ideas before providing advice, which leads to further ideas and inquiry.
