About Megan
I’m Megan, an English tutor with a strong academic background in GCSE and A-Level English, and a genuine passion for helping students understand and enjoy the subject. I teach English Language and Literature, with particular strengths in essay writing, creative writing, comparative writing, and poetry analysis.
I understand how overwhelming English can feel — especially when it comes to exams, structure, and interpretation — so I focus on making ideas clear, approachable, and manageable. My aim is to help students feel more confident in their thinking and more fluent in expressing it, whether they’re aiming to improve grades or deepen their understanding of texts.
I’m patient, encouraging, and adaptable, and I tailor every lesson to suit the student’s level, learning style, and goals. I believe progress comes from clarity and confidence, and I work hard to make sure students leave each lesson feeling both supported and challenged.
On top of this, as a University student with a varied weekly schedule, I am a lot more flexible than some tutors with more of a 'fixed' structure. So if looking for more flexibility, I would be the go-to!

Hi, I’m Megan, an English tutor specialising in Language, Literature, essay writing, creative writing, and comparative analysis (including poetry comparison). I’ve completed GCSE and A-Level English and now teach students working at those same levels, helping them build confidence, clarity, and strong exam technique.
My lessons are structured but flexible. I focus on how to answer essay questions, building students back up with clear explanations, model answers, and guided practice. Whether we’re analysing poetry, improving essay structure, or developing a personal writing style, my approach is always tailored to the individual student and their goals for personalised sessions.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though sessions can be adapted depending on concentration levels and workload. Lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students, including those who want to boost grades, prepare for exams, improve essay technique, or gain confidence with English in general. I aim to make lessons supportive, focused, and engaging — English doesn’t have to feel intimidating to be effective.
