About Maria
As an English Literature A-level student in Year 12, I’m extremely passionate about the subject and have been an enthusiastic reader from a young age. Hoping to study Literature at university, I believe in encouraging a love for English early on. I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment, helping everyone build confidence while improving their analytical skills. My lessons are structured around organisation and consistency. At the start of the sessions, we set clear goals and create a plan to achieve them. Then I provide personalised materials and homework created based on each student’s progress and targets. After every 60 minute lesson, students receive a summary along with their homework, and together we build a realistic study plan to keep everything on track.
I understand how stressful exams can feel at any point in the school career, so it is important to ensure that preparation is organised and reliable.
Having been through this myself, as well as helped as a GCSE English Teaching Assistant at my school, I can share techniques that worked for me, as well as introduce a range of other strategies to suit each student.
--> For GCSE English Language, we focus on mastering question types and structuring high-grade responses.
--> For GCSE English Literature, we analyse key texts in an interactive, engaging way and develop strong, well-structured essays.
--> For KS1–KS3, lessons focus on reading comprehension, creative writing, and building confidence in structured responses.
