About Joanna
During my time at university I have voluntarily tutored GCSE students in English Literature weekly, who have told me that consequently their grades have risen and they have learned to enjoy the subject more.
I am passionate about making sessions enjoyable as well as very productive, as in my experience this is how a student's confidence in his or her subject best flourishes.
I have also spent time volunteering for the charity Phab, organising and participating in social events for children with disabilities.

I would love to help anyone who wants to improve their grades in these subjects. Whether they are struggling or want to excel even further, I can enable them to score in the highest grade band. I want to kindle a passion for learning in my students, as well as helping them increase their grades.
The lesson structure will be tailored to the student's needs; in the first free session we will establish what these are and devise a plan, however I can also be spontaneous and help with any topic that the student brings to me. I am able to provide a sharp focus on problematic areas, as well as on the minutiae of the marking criteria that allow the student to jump up to a higher grade, and ultimately help the student gain confidence in the subject.
