About Rossana
I'm a true believer in the role of education in the life of young people, getting good grades for me is linked to the idea that anything can be achieved through persistence, resilience and hard work. I love seeing the expression on a young person's face when the penny drops and they finally understand something, or the light behind their eyes switching on when they know they are making progress. In my 5 years of teaching I've worked with children with English as a foreign language, SEN and More able. Throughout this time I have developed a strong understanding of teaching and learning. I've worked with young people from the language acquisition phase through to GCSE success and this has helped me to build a strong understanding for what a student is missing at every stage. Designing curriculums, planning for my department and leading teaching and learning in my department through my second in charge role, has helped me develop the understanding of how learning is knit together and how young people retain information in their memory. All of which I put to use in my tailored tutoring sessions. My tutoring sessions are focused on the needs of the individual or small group, I design my sessions to be fun and engaging. Tailoring to the needs of my students is imperative so when planning I take into consideration their individual preferences. I plan every moment to keep my students working, throwing in challenges throughout, to ensure my student is stretched to the fullest in order to reach their full potential.
