About Tiago
Hi there! My name is Tiago Simões and I graduated in Journalism in Brazil and Graphic Design in Australia. I spent 4 years living in Gold Coast, Australia where I studied Graphic Design and worked as a Chef. Besides Australia, I lived in New Zealand, Indonesia and Vietnam working as an English Language Teacher and traveling Southeast Asia.

My teaching method is based on the direct method, in which students think and speak in English without thinking about translation. Focus on correcting pronunciation so that the student has a more native accent and explain grammar in a simple and effective way. Instead of translating vocabulary, I try to apply it in sentences that the student understands the meaning and does not need translations.
I try to prepare specific classes according to the professional or academic needs of each student so that they reach their goals.
I've been teaching for 9 years and for the last 3 years I've traveled Southeast Asia teaching classes with various methods and for students from beginner to advanced level and with different goals (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge).
My goal during classes is make the student develop an interest in the language and always bring dynamic and fun lessons to our meetings.
