About Sophie
Hello! I am a Neuroscience MSci student just finishing her 3rd year at university.
I've always loved teaching people: my dad is a tutor, and growing up with him teaching me all about the world made it feel much bigger. I have 3 younger siblings, and helping to teach them across a whole range of subjects and levels has really helped me to understand how this is best done.
I also edit the student magazine at UCL, giving me a lot of practice at refining written work and conveying both corrections and compliments with appreciation for the subject. I am always grateful when people put the work in, and really try to make learning a positive space.

Learning should be enjoyable! Keeping the context of *why* we're learning certain things is really important - what's the point of learning this vocab, or that specific date? Putting everything in perspective really helps with both motivation and understanding.
I use a range of resources to help tutees learn, including online resources, textbooks and diagrams - as well as lots of practice! I really want to convey the love I feel for learning above anything: it doesn't have to be a chore.
Lessons will be an hour long, and filled with lots of diagrams/acronyms/tips and tricks for exams. We'll start with understanding your weaknesses and strengths, how you learn best - and this will help to guide the lesson progression.
