About Adam

I am a reflective and intellectually curious A-Level graduate who achieved top GCSE grades in English (Grade 9 Language, Grade 8 Literature). I bring a principled and analytical mindset to teaching, helping students build confidence, clarity, and originality in their work.

My methodology combines metacognition — teaching students how they think — with idea-crafting and creativity, so they can develop unique, high-quality responses rather than relying on rigid templates. I also focus on exam technique and revision strategies, using practical tools like mind maps, “blurt” exercises, and structured practice to help students remember, organise, and apply knowledge efficiently.

I specialise in GCSE English, with lesson lengths tailored to student needs, ranging from 20 minutes to one hour, ensuring lessons remain focused, engaging, and productive. My priority is helping students think critically, revise effectively, and perform confidently in exams.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is rooted in metacognition — helping students understand how they think, not just what to write. I focus on developing self-aware learners who can analyse questions strategically, structure their ideas confidently, and evaluate their own work effectively.

Rather than enforcing rigid templates, I prioritise crafting and refining each student’s individual ideas. I encourage originality, critical thinking, and creativity, particularly in analytical and essay-based responses. By inspiring students to explore their own interpretations while grounding them in exam criteria, I help them produce thoughtful, high-level answers that stand out.

My primary focus is GCSE English students, and I offer flexible lesson lengths ranging from 20 minutes to one hour, depending on attention span, goals, and areas for improvement. Sessions are structured, engaging, and tailored to maximise progress efficiently.
