About Jennifer
I have a Master's degree in English from Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada. While completing my degree I worked as both a Research Assistant and Graduate Assistant for two English professors, so I have direct experience grading essays and assisting students at the university level. I also have a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources from Durham College. In terms of other relevant work experience, I've worked as an Editor for a publishing company, both in-house and freelance, so I can assist with editing and proofreading any English texts. I can help with English studies at all levels from elementary to college and university, including essay research and writing. I can also help with learning English as a second language, from practice with speaking and becoming immersed in the language to reading, writing and grammar/spelling/punctuation. I'm currently a Human Resources professional with many years of recruitment experience so I can also support learning of college-level Human Resources programs. If you need help with resume and cover letter writing, I can help! I can also assist with interview preparation and coaching.

I'm here to help students of all levels with their English studies and will adapt to meet each student's needs. This includes tutoring in speech, reading, writing, grammar, spelling and/or punctuation, as well as more advanced academic essay writing at the high school, college and university level. I can also assist with learning ESL and believe that practicing speaking and immersing oneself in the language is of the utmost importance for learning, but will also explain and simplify more complex grammar rules and nuances, as well as assist in learning to read and write in English. In terms of academic essay writing I can help students understand what teachers and professors are looking for and can assist with all stages of the process - researching, drafting, writing and editing - as well as provide areas for improvement. Students will let me know what they want to work on and we'll develop a plan and schedule to meet their English goals. My methodology will depend on the student, their academic level and their academic goals, and will include simple explanations of more complex concepts, suggestions for ways to improve, coaching, examples, etc. I'm also available to help with employment-related English needs including resume and cover letter writing and interview preparation.
