About Alex
I’m an Australian with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Communication and I have over 7 years working experience in marketing and business across both the corporate and non-profit sectors.
I've been learning languages for over a decade so I really know what it is like to be a student.
I have tutored casually over the past few years and bring a laid back conversational approach to my classes. I find speaking and gaining confidence in a language is the key to remembering vocabulary and grammar. I am goal focussed and like to identify what my students want to gain from their tutoring and tailor our classes to ensure we achieve your goals.
My corporate experience means I can help those wanting to improve their business english.
I can also teach english for travel and for conversation.
I speak conversational French and basic Spanish.

I have tutored English in-person casually for the past few years.
My teaching style focuses on getting students to speak as much as possible, without getting too bogged down in grammar. I believe that the best way to learn a language is to use it in real-life contexts.
I use techniques that help students emotionally connect with vocabulary and grammar, making the language feel more meaningful and memorable. When students can form these emotional connections, they tend to recall information more easily and use it with confidence in conversation.
I’m passionate about helping students not just learn a language, but feel empowered by it. Whether you’re learning for travel, work, or personal growth, I’m here to help you communicate effectively and enjoy the process along the way.
