About Anisa
Hello! My name is Anisa and I am a dedicated and enthusiastic Science teacher with a passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential for intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth. I have experience teaching a variety of learning abilities and SEND needs throughout KS3 - KS4 and have developed strong pedagogical practices to support learners. I specialise in ensuring students have access to a bespoke and engaging curriculum as Head of KS4. I am very patient and supportive and will always help my students to improve their understanding and build their confidence!

Over the last 10 years of tutoring and teaching Science I have gained experience tutoring a variety of students and using different approaches to suit my students needs. I understand that all students are unique and have different learning styles so I adapt my teaching to cater to students. I am very flexible and have a positive and caring approach.
As Head of KS4 Science, my insight into exam skills, data and outcomes helps my students understand and dissect exam techniques and strategies.
My lessons involve teaching content, clarifying misconceptions using different AFL strategies' and building towards more challenging ideas. I embed exam skills such as command words, working scientifically and analytical skills into my lessons as this is the best way to get students to master their exam techniques.
In a typical hour lesson, I would start off with retrieval based activity that links to the new learning and an opportunity to assess students prior knowledge. Based on the level of understanding I would then tailer the lesson in terms of challenge. I would use a large portion of the lesson to do tasks and activities with the student whilst live modelling.
My past students have successfully achieved or exceeded their target grades as a result of our efforts together.
