About Shannon
I graduated from Brock University and started my journey as an educator in the secondary school level. I have been a long-term occasional teacher for the past 6 years, which has given me the opportunity to work with students of various academic ability. This has allowed me to maintain flexible in the construction and delivery of my lessons. I always take time out of my classes to work one on one with students who are in need of additional support. While I am stationed in secondary school at the moment, I have taught, and am certified to teach, grades 4-12. This have given me an abundance of knowledge on teaching techniques for various grades. My goal is to ensure all of my students succeed, which means mom don’t my teaching style to each and every student I encounter. I am calm, patient and understanding. I never back down from a challenge. At the end of the day, I want any student who has crossed paths with me to learn essential skills that they can carry with them throughout life.

I understand every learner is different, therefore, I strive to ensure my lessons are flexible and can be delivered in different ways to ensure understanding. I am a firm believer in working through a problem until it understood, rather than just providing a solution. My lessons range from interactive and hands on, to analytical and theoretical. I do my best to get to know each learner and their needs so that I can put my best foot forward as an educator and help all of my student succeed, academically, and in life.
