About Sarah
As a freelance musician, I have worked with several projects as a Vocalist, Violinist, Entertainer and Event Promoter. Although I was formally classically trained for 15 years, I have specialised in Urban, Electronic, Soul and Popular Music for the past 16 years. During this time I have pursued my passion for Music Education in conjunction with my performance career. I have a diverse skill-set as a Tutor of Performance, Vocals, Musicianship/ Aural Skills and Violin and have worked in schools, colleges, youth centres, studios, in the home and online.

Through my extensive experience I have developed my own successful teaching methods and resources, learnt a great deal from talented colleagues and gained formal teacher training. My objectives are to develop a students' 'inner ear' and sense of musicianship away from their instrument or equipment, to secure a sound practical technique and to develop showmanship. Aside from these essential aspects of instrumental or vocal training, I also recognise the importance of instilling a good work ethic in my students so they can manage their own private practice and develop an efficient routine. Furthermore, I pride myself on the ability to apply my live performance experience to feed into my teaching. I use fun warm-ups and technical exercises to supplement my students' learning when working on scales and pieces. I always consider that every learner has a unique combination of strengths, challenges and learning styles. Therefore, I design tuition programmes based entirely on the individual/s I am working with.
