About Luke

I am an experienced tutor happy to help with your study needs. I am very passionate about my subjects and I am very good at sharing that passion with my students. I started tutoring while at university and discovered that I am very good at explaining things in simple terms and my students are taken in by my love for learning.

About the lesson

My classes usually involve some form of explanation of a specific topic and loads of exercises to help with the understanding and retention of the material. For regular sessions, I go back to certain topics at the beginning of the lesson to do some quick revision, so that the topic remains in the long-term memory. Which topics I cover is completely up to the student and depends on areas of weakness or current material covered in classes. I adapt flexibly to the student's ability and go back if previous material is unclear or move ahead if the student is secure in answering questions or completing exercises.

Luke taught my son gcse English during 2018/19.

My son really doesn't enjoy the subject but Luke managed to give him the belief in himself and made the lessons interesting. My son never moaned attending a lesson with Luke and I would highly recommend him.
