About Liora
My journey with Excel began with recognizing the transformative power of structured data and analytical insights in everyday tasks and professional workflows. I pursued a B.Sc in Computer Science followed by an M.Sc in Data Analytics, equipping myself with a deep understanding of data management, statistical analysis, and spreadsheet optimization. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided learners of all levels to develop proficiency in Excel, combining practical skills with conceptual understanding to ensure lasting competency.
I focus on creating lessons that are engaging, patient, and adaptive to each student’s pace. Many learners initially struggle with formulas, functions, or complex data structures, so I break content into manageable steps, provide real-world examples, and encourage hands-on experimentation. My approach emphasizes logical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning, helping students gain both technical expertise and confidence.
Outside the classroom, I continuously explore new Excel features, data analysis techniques, and educational strategies to enhance my teaching. This allows me to provide students with current, relevant examples and workflows applicable in real-life and professional contexts. Witnessing learners transform uncertainty into mastery, creating efficient, insightful spreadsheets, and approaching data with confidence is immensely rewarding. Supporting students in developing analytical skills and Excel proficiency remains the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Excel lessons become dynamic and engaging when learners see the real-world utility of spreadsheets for data management, problem-solving, and decision-making. My sessions cover formulas, functions, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data visualization, macros, and advanced analysis tools. I focus on helping students build a solid understanding of spreadsheet logic, enabling them to structure data effectively, perform accurate calculations, and interpret results clearly. By using practical examples, interactive exercises, and step-by-step guidance, learners develop confidence and independence in their Excel skills, discovering techniques that streamline work and improve efficiency.
I adapt lessons to student proficiency. Beginners gain familiarity with basic cell operations, formatting, simple formulas, and data organization. Intermediate learners explore complex functions, lookup formulas, conditional statements, and visual dashboards. Advanced learners engage with macros, automation, dynamic charts, advanced formulas, and large dataset analysis. Each session blends instruction, hands-on exercises, and problem-solving tasks, fostering conceptual understanding and technical competency in a supportive environment where questions are welcomed and curiosity is encouraged.
Beyond teaching tools, Excel lessons cultivate analytical thinking, precision, and efficiency. Students learn to manage data critically, interpret insights, and approach challenges systematically. Many gain satisfaction as they create visually appealing reports and functional models. My goal is to equip learners with skills that translate to professional success, academic performance, and practical problem-solving, building both confidence and mastery of Microsoft Excel.
