About Vanessa

Hello, I`m Vanessa, originally from Italy. I`m a positive person with a strong interest in Linguistics and Classics. I spent five years studying Latin and Ancient Greek at Liceo B. Cavalieri, a high school specialising in classical studies in Italy. After that, I graduated in Classics (Latin and Greek) from the University of Pavia. During my time there, I covered various subjects including Italian, Latin and Ancient Greek literature, grammar, and history of the language, as well as general linguistics, classical archaeology and epigraphy. In 2016, I moved to the U.K. to work as an au pair. Later, I pursued a Master`s degree in Ancient History at UCL, which I successfully completed. I also obtained a teaching qualification, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Cambridge. Since 2018, I`ve been working in secondary schools, where I`ve been passionate about teaching.

About the lesson

Centred on student engagement and tailored instruction, my teaching approach prioritises the individual needs of each student. I believe in fostering an environment where students feel empowered to take ownership of their learning journey. Through clear and concise communication, I aim to make complex concepts accessible. By placing emphasis on the unique strengths and preferences of my students, I endeavour to create a dynamic classroom atmosphere that encourages lifelong curiosity and active participation, ultimately leading to academic success. Since 2020, I`ve ventured into online teaching and tutoring. Using platforms like Zoom and digital resources such as slide presentations, websites, interactive annotations, I strive to create engaging lessons. Regularly conducting online sessions, I ensure students receive quality learning experiences.
