About Davin
Over the past 8 years, I’ve developed a teaching approach centered around personalization and student engagement. Every learner has their own goals, whether it’s mastering favorite songs, improving technique, or understanding music theory, and I adapt lessons accordingly. I start with essential skills—hand positioning, chord transitions, timing, and rhythm—to build a strong foundation. From there, lessons evolve to include creative elements like improvisation and songwriting to keep students inspired. I use a variety of tools, including backing tracks and recording apps, to make practice dynamic and accessible. A memorable moment was working with a student who overcame stage fright to deliver a confident performance at a local recital. Creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment is fundamental to my teaching philosophy, as I want students to feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. Whether you want to play casually or pursue serious musicianship, I’m here to help you develop skills, confidence, and joy in playing guitar.

When I teach Guitar, my goal is to create a musical journey that feels honest, exciting, and custom-built for each student. I believe that everyone learns best when the material speaks to them directly.
That’s why I start with your musical passions—what artists you love, what kind of songs move you, and what you dream of doing with the guitar. From there, we design lessons that combine personal meaning with real skill-building. Whether we’re learning rhythm techniques, exploring melody, or unlocking your own songwriting potential, everything is connected to music that feels alive to you. Motivation is what keeps practice going outside of lessons, so I prioritize it. I help you find joy in the small wins: nailing a chord transition, understanding a tricky rhythm, writing your first original riff. These moments build confidence, and that confidence fuels more progress.
When a challenge arises, I help you break it down and look at it from different angles. I teach the “why” behind each difficulty, so you're not just repeating things but truly understanding what’s happening. I give clear, kind, and useful feedback that helps you move forward without ever feeling judged or compared. I hold myself to a standard of teaching with integrity—you’ll always know where you are in your journey and what’s coming next.
I also stay responsive to how you learn. Some students are hands-on; some need to see things written out; some thrive on theory. I adapt my style to match yours. Beyond Guitar, I offer insight into related topics like creative improvisation, songwriting structure, music theory, and performance skills. Whether you want to jam for fun or take your musicianship to the next level, I’ll be there every step of the way, helping you grow with clarity, kindness, and purpose.
