About Mathuscha
Hi I’m Mathuscha
I’m a PhD student at the University of Leicester specialising in Respiratory Science. I have a Bsc and MRes in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham. I have a deep passion and understanding for the subject. Having taken Biology, Chemistry and Physics for my A-levels I understand the challenges that student may face.
I have tutored for 2 years, during which I have tutored 40 students, helping them increase their understanding of the subject as well as improve their confidence in approaching exam questions. One of my main focus is on tailoring my lessons to the students specific needs, adapting to my students abilities and ages as required. During my first lesson I like to assess the students understanding of the subject and create targeted lesson plans that help fill the gaps in my students knowledge, we will review the plans few lessons in and make changes if required. I finish my lessons with exam question based on the topics we covered in the lesson, however if the student prefers I’m happy to work through an exam paper as well.

My main aim in my lessons is to provide targeted learning that addresses the students specific learning challenges. I use a variety of teaching techniques such as visual learning, audible learning and questions and model answers and past exam questions. I aim to help students with exam prep strategies and techniques that ensures then to improve and succeed within the chosen subject. I like to ensure that students have fun and are comfortable as I believe this is the best environment for them to succeed.
