About Samuel
Hi! I'm Samuel, I'm in my third year of medical school at Newcastle University. I received all four interviews for medical school and converted this into four offers, allowing me to pursue medicine at my top choice university. I scored a merit (top 10% of my cohort) in my medical school exams. I specialise in tutoring Biology AQA, having achieved a grade 9 at GCSE and an A* at A-level. My success here has given me confidence in my strategies and approach to the exams, and I am deeply committed to tutoring and passing on these tips and tricks and exam techniques. I have extensive tutoring experience, having taught GCSE and A-level students. My students have gone on to achieve the grades they were aiming for, leaving me confident in my lesson structure. Typically lessons last either one hour or two hours and are done once a week. Lesson Plan: • First lesson is FREE - I like to use the first lesson to get to know each other and find out exactly what you are looking to get out of the lessons so I can tailor my teaching approach, and so we can come up with a plan together for the future lessons. • Pre-lesson planning - Outlining what topics we would like to go through before the session in order to maximise the amount of time we have together. • Lessons - I use a variety of teaching methods in the lessons. I like to explain and talk through the difficult concepts, giving advice on how to approach the questions in an efficient way to build a foundation of the knowledge. I then like to talk through some questions together to ensure you have understood them, before getting you to put the learning into action and try exam style questions. I like to put a lot of emphasis on exam style questions and past papers as I believe these offer the best practice to prepare you for your exams. Homework - To ensure maximum understanding I find it is beneficial to set some questions for you to take away and work on, that we can then mark and talk through at the start of the following session.

Samuel is an amazing tutor who helped me score a band 1 in the UCAT! He’s really friendly, which made lessons enjoyable and stress-free, just like talking to, and revising with your friend.
