Classes I have thorough experience in:
General chemistry, organic chemistry, quantitative analysis, biochemistry, general biology, microbiology, instrumental analysis, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus.
I also have experience in:
Writing research papers, lab techniques, proper lab preparation and post lab write-ups, college preparation.
So who can I tutor successfully?
Anyone who needs help in the topics I have mentioned above at an undergraduate college level or below.
How I want my students to learn:
- You should understand WHY the material you are learning is important. How does it apply to the real world?
- You should understand WHY things are the way they are. For example, why is the periodic table arranged the way it is? Then and only then can you fully utilize the periodic table to be advantageous to you in your chemistry class.
- You should not memorize, but understand the topics you are trying to learn instead.
- You should ask questions, even small ones, which can make the difference between understanding a topic or it completely going over you head.
How I teach each person will depend on their own individual needs. One lesson plan does not fit all. However- I heavily work with charts, diagrams, photos, mechanisms, and anything else that is summarized and concise, yet plentiful in information.
