About Tahlia
Hi i'm Tahlia!
I've been doing drama classes (just like you) since I was ten years old myself. Through this time I have trained with a number of respected acting coaches nationwide (so I know what it's like to be in your shoes)
I'm a graduate of NIDA and 16th Street Actors Studio and i'm currently working in the industry myself. With a love of teaching and mentoring, I've now found myself in the coaching chair.
With 5 years of experience as a teacher behind my belt, I currently work at NIDA, Newtown Performing Arts, The Australian Theatre For Young People and The Australian Performing Arts Grammar School; where I not only take weekly classes but help devise and direct student performances.
It's this wealth of varied knowledge and experience that I will bring to our one on one coaching sessions. As well as a lot of FUN! I am a warm spirited teacher who believes in the importance of creating an enjoyable classroom environment- since in my experience, this is when you work and play best!

My teaching philosophy is all about getting to know my students. I know that acting isn't a 'one method fits all' kind of subject so it's important to me that I build rapport with them in order to learn how they best work. Then I can individually tailor my coaching style to them.
My preferred acting techniques are based around the teachings of Stanislavski, Adler, Hagen and Meisner however I also draw from the years of knowledge imparted on me by my own acting teachers and mentors.
I am ideally looking for 1-2 hour classes (online or in person) and am happy to take students from the ages of 5 and up.
Having worked at a number of respected drama schools here in Sydney and Melbourne over the last 5 years, I have experience teaching across all age groups and expertise levels.
Don't worry if you've never acted before. If you have the drive and interest, I am happy to teach you!
