About Emma
Hi! I'm Emma, a journalist and editor with a decade of experience working in local and national newsrooms. Let's take a look back ...
High school Emma: I grew up in Delaware, and I've always loved to write. I got a perfect score on the writing portion of the SAT (RIP) — and far from perfect on the math section.
College Emma: I studied creative witing and journalism at Washington College, where I became the Editor in Chief of the college paper and worked a handful of magazine internships.
20s Emma: My first full-time journalism job was editing at Charlotte magazine in North Carolina. I worked my way up to the top seat in a year and became the youngest city magazine editor in the country.
Emma today: I work for the national media organization Axios where I lead 30 Local newsrooms across the country. I love my job, and I love that I get to write and edit for a living. I hope to share that love with you!
