About Aya
Hello!
My teaching experience spans various contexts, including classroom settings, group tutoring, and one-on-one tutoring.
I have 5+ years of experience as an English teacher and tutor, conducting language tutoring sessions tailored for limited English language speakers. I have also worked as a language arts teacher and have tutored various core subjects for students in primary, secondary, and tertiary school.
That one-on-one tutoring experience with elementary school, middle school, high school and adult students allowed me to tailor my approach to individual student needs, providing them with personalized support.
My tutoring approach is centered around creating a personalized and engaging learning experience for each student. I believe in understanding the unique needs and learning styles of students to tailor my teaching methods accordingly. I like to create collaborative and interactive learning sessions, encouraging students to ask questions and express their thoughts. In sessions, I utilize a variety of teaching resources, including visual aids and real-life examples.

I am proficient and experienced in working with students at primary, secondary, and tertiary schools. I offer a student-centered approach in my teaching. I start with an assessment that can help me grasp your individual needs. I am flexible and adapt to meet your learning styles, believing that each student can reach their full potential. Regardless of where you are at, I create a supportive atmosphere that motivates you and helps you reach your learning goals.
A typical lesson with me starts with a warm greeting and a recapitulation of the previous lesson in case you have any lingering questions. Then we get into the objective of the lesson, introducing the day's agenda. Afterward, we move to the main instruction and the introduction of the concept.
Once that is set, we do some interactive exercises that are designed to engage you in the learning process and encourage your participation. Ending off, you would do some guided practice before I asses your understanding and address any remaining questions.
I cover a range of topics such as grammar and syntax, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, writing skills, literary elements, and literary devices, as well as understanding cultural context and allusion in texts.
