About Caitlin
I'm an English tutor with a love for helping students not only learn but also grow into confident individuals. I specialise in everything from Creative and Non-Creative Writing, Literature, and Language to Oral Expression, Reading, and 7+ Exam Preparation. Over the years, I’ve worked 1-2-1 with students preparing for the 7+ exams, and I’ve been lucky enough to help students secure places at schools like Highgate School and Eltham College. I truly believe that with the right teacher, anyone can learn anything if they feel supported and safe enough to grow and ask questions. Every child has the right to a great education. I have a BA (Hons) in Acting from the Manchester School of Theatre, a Diploma in Performance from UAL, and A-Levels in English Literature and Language. Studying acting and the English language at such a high level whilst working with people from all different backgrounds was really what made me want to become a tutor. Young people are the future and to be able to make a contribution to their lives, helping them learn whilst growing in confidence is something I will always find incredibly rewarding. My background in acting has gifted me a unique way to connect with students, making learning more accessible and fun. I believe in creating a warm, friendly environment where students feel supported and safe to ask questions and grow more confident as young people with each session. I’ve got a valid DBS and plenty of experience working with young people from early years up to GCSEs. On top of English tutoring, I also offer drama coaching, helping students build confidence in public speaking, presentations, and all those life skills that go hand-in-hand with personal growth.

My lessons generally last 1 hour but can be adapted depending on the needs and focus of the student. I will tailor my lessons based on the individual learning style of the student. Through identifying strengths and weaknesses I can adjust the way that I teach. I like to make learning as fun and accessible as possible. We will target weaknesses, going through homework, past papers and exercises getting them to a place of confidence. I'm more than happy to have a chat to discuss whether you think I'd be the right fit and if there are specific areas of support that the student needs help with.

Perfect! Caitlin is a wonderful tutor for our daughter, very calm, patient and accurate. My daughter learned some new, important and difficult approaches in writing long sentences. She also learns new vocabulary, her confidence increases and she stays quiet motivated despite new challenges. We are very grateful for Caitlin’s work!
