About Tara
Hello future students! My name is Tara Dees. I fell in love with languages when I was 16 and realized that they came easier to me than others. Since then I now speak 4 different languages and understand everything that comes with learning a new foreign language from being embarassed because you don't want to speak incorrectly to genuinely not understanding why certain grammar works the way it does. My love of language has led me to live in 4 different countries and I want to pass on that passion to my students. I believe language is the foundation of our culture and when you understand it, you are able to understand so much more about the world. I used to teach in schools, as a private tutor, online tutoring and I really love having a different input than normal school teachers. I really enjoy helping kids understand the language, not just learn it by the book. That is why I really focus on conversation as the main part of my lessons. I hope I can help you advance in your English fluency and understanding!

Hi! My name is Tara. I have been teaching English as a second language as a private tutor since 2016. I like to focus on the conversation and speaking aspects of the language because from my experience, most students are great on paper, but lack the confidence to speak outloud. I speak more than one language and I bring that experience to the classroom. My lessons are divided into three parts: 1) Review of last lesson, answer any questions in general, and make sure student has completely understood what has previously been taught 2) Introduction of something new, thoroughly explained and given loads of examples from myself and then the student will give their own examples 3) Gametime! Review of what has been taught in this lesson and overall. I incorporate fun games and activities at the end to help cement the concepts in the student's minds.
I will give small homework as a review of what was taught in the lesson and we go over it next lesson. I don't believe in adding more coursework to a students load, so that is why I always have the time at the beginning of the lesson to go over that work.
