About Talon
Hi! I’m a guitar teacher with over 4 years of experience and an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance. I’ve had the joy of working in community programs, local gigs, and school enrichment clubs, sharing music with learners of all ages. Seeing a student play their first chord or solo never gets old for me. I love guiding first-time learners, helping them build confidence step by step. My lessons are built on curiosity, connection, and steady encouragement. We explore songs that excite you, while developing solid technique and musical understanding. Whether you’re strumming your first song or preparing for a school performance, I’m here to support you. I believe learning guitar should be fun, relaxed, and inspiring. In my guitar lessons, I focus on building strong fundamentals with every student. We start by mastering chord transitions, making sure you can move smoothly and confidently between shapes. I guide students in controlling their pick, helping them develop accuracy and steady rhythm. Strumming patterns are a key part of my method, bringing energy and groove to each song.
As students progress, we explore the fretboard in depth, learning scales, note positions, and how to navigate the neck with ease. For those drawn to rock or blues, I introduce powerful riffs, expressive bends, and soulful solos that capture the heart of the style. We work on tone, phrasing, and improvisation, making sure each student finds their personal sound.
