About Mark
I earned my B.A. in English from the University of Toronto.
I began work as a strategist and executive in the tech world before following my heart into teaching literature.
I’ve had a great teaching career because I love language and literature, and I love working with students.

I’ve been teaching high school English, grades 9-12, for over 20 years. My goal is to share the skills that will excite your own teacher, earn you great grades, and get you into the post-secondary programs of your choice.
I know you don’t learn when lessons are boring, so I make it fun and fulfilling. Tell me your interests, and we'll make them our topics.
We'll use literary analysis and the literary essay as our focus. That builds your skills in two of the four strands of the English curriculum.
For typical lessons, you'll read short pieces, followed by questions, appropriate to your grade and skills. We'll discuss the work, so you can refine your thoughts. From there, we'll move to getting your thoughts down in writing.
I'm always prepared to help you with anything you're stuck on. Let's turn those challenges into strengths, your strengths into quality work, and your work into the marks you want.
