About Hamish

I've been teaching for many years and really enjoy seeing the improvement students make over the course of my lessons. History is an excellent subject for learning how to analyse and make use of all types of information. It's an exceptionally versatile subject and improving in it can help your performance in all subjects at A Level and at university level.

I have great attention to detail, I'm determined to make sure that you set and meet high standards, and most importantly, I'm driven to make sure that you feel confident in what you do.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to bolster your confidence and demonstrate how you can improve your analytical and writing techniques to improve your grades. Lessons are an hour long and are generally divided into two parts. One to assess the work that you've done in the previous week and the second to focus on what areas require greater attention. This can range from content reviewing to essay writing techniques and analytical principles.

I've been tutoring for over three years and have delivered over 1000 lessons. I am a PhD student in History at the University of Oxford. I tutor A Level History (all exam boards), the HAT, and am able to help offer advice, guidance, and help in university admissions processes.
