About Alicia
I bring a unique combination of skills and experiences to my tutoring, which allows me to cater to a variety of learning needs. I have a patient, step-by-step approach that focuses on building solid technique while keeping lessons fun and engaging. Working with international students has been a significant part of my experience. I understand the challenges that come with learning in a foreign environment, so I tailor my approach to accommodate different cultural backgrounds and learning styles. This helps me create a comfortable, open environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and ultimately succeed. My degree in Early Childhood Education enhances my ability to connect with students of all ages, from young children to adults. I know how to make lessons interactive and enjoyable, using age-appropriate methods to keep students engaged. For younger learners, I use play-based approaches, while for older learners, I focus on building critical thinking skills and helping them apply what they’ve learned in real-life situations. In addition to my music background, I teach Mandarin and Cantonese to adult learners.
