About Naomi
I am a creative problem-solver, and I love taking a confusing, boring, or overwhelming topic/skill and making it clear, manageable, and usually fun. I’ve taught English for all grades from 6-12 for the last 16 years. When I was in high school myself, I got a 5 on the AP Language and AP Literature Tests, so I can help you with anything English class-related, whether it’s writing and polishing an essay, studying for a vocabulary test, making sense of a Shakespeare play, or figuring out what to do with a semicolon. If you have a huge project and you don’t know where to start, I can help you break it down into manageable chunks that you can totally handle. English is fascinating, and I genuinely love teaching it, so tell me how I can help you gain reading, writing, and literature skills and confidence that you can take back to your English class to impress your teacher and improve your grade!

I am a creative, empathetic teacher with 16 years of experience meeting students at their level and helping them strengthen their skills and discover their unique voice. I will not waste your time with work that is below your level, and I will NEVER make you feel bad for not knowing how to do something. I love working with neurodivergent kids (I am neurodivergent, too!) and I have experience teaching students learning English as a second language (ELD).
