About Immanuel
I'm an experienced math and computer science tutor with a track record of working with students at every level, from elementary school through college. My experience spans both private one-on-one tutoring and leading small groups of 5–10 students in professional settings — giving me the flexibility to meet students wherever they are, academically and personally.
My commitment to tutoring goes all the way back to high school, when I began volunteering to help peers who were struggling. That experience shaped a teaching philosophy grounded in accessibility, patience, and genuine investment in each student's progress. I don't just care about grades — I care about building the confidence and skills that make a real difference in how students approach learning long-term.

My goal as a tutor is simple: to make myself unnecessary. Every lesson is designed to build the kind of independent thinking and problem-solving habits that stick long after our sessions end. Rather than just walking through solutions, I focus on the why behind each concept — because students who understand the reasoning can adapt when problems look unfamiliar.
A typical lesson starts by identifying where a student is getting stuck, then breaking that concept into clear, manageable steps. From there, we work through problems together with decreasing guidance, so students gradually take the wheel. I'm highly observational by nature, and I pay close attention to how each person thinks — not just what they get wrong. That lets me adapt my pacing, explanations, and examples to fit each student's learning style rather than forcing them to fit mine.
I work with students from elementary school through college, in both one-on-one and small group settings.
My subject areas include:
Math: Elementary through college-level calculus, SAT/ACT prep
Computer Science: AP Computer Science, and introductory college courses (100–200 level)
