About Paul
I’ve been working in the music and publishing industries for nearly 2 decades. After moving back to Scotland to be around family, I still offer freelance and consulting services to companies. I’m looking to supplement this with tutoring. Having held a recurring guest lecture slot at UCL in London for their Masters In Publishing, I enjoyed the experience but would prefer to be able to get into it with more depth. I’m very flexible, approachable and laid back. Whether someone wishes to concentrate on something specifically or learn more generally, we can work out whatever works best.

Over the past 2 decades I have worked closely with major brands such as Disney, Hasbro & PlayStation, negotiated movie deals with DreamWorks, Paramount & Columbia, worked closely with bestselling artists such as Radiohead, Zedd & Coldplay and bestselling authors such as Heather Morris, Robbie Williams and Lynda La Plante. I’ve worked in most areas (licensing, registering new works, handling legal disputes, handling trademarks, administering copyrights on behalf of an investment fund, client management, live gig promotion, royalties, contract negotiation, across multiple countries (UK, US, EU & Australia), for publishers, music publishers, record labels, live music venues and collection societies. I’m looking for anyone who wishes to enter these areas and navigate the tricky waters. If there’s a specific area you wish to concentrate on or prefer to understand more generally. I’m fun and approachable, flexible and laid back.
