About Samira

I am a native Spanish speaker who lived in Chile for 14 years before moving to the USA two years ago. I am excited to attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall of 2025. I am looking for a summer job that I enjoy, and I love sharing my culture through tutoring. My passion for teaching and my unique background inspire confidence and ensure a professional and engaging learning experience for my students.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is centered around creating an engaging and interactive learning environment tailored to each student's needs. My teaching method combines traditional techniques with modern, immersive practices to ensure a well-rounded language acquisition experience.

- Teaching Method and Techniques:
I use a communicative approach, emphasizing real-life conversations and practical usage of the language. This includes interactive exercises, multimedia resources, and cultural immersion activities. Grammar and vocabulary are integrated naturally into our discussions, allowing students to grasp concepts contextually.

Typical Lesson Plan:

- Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): Begin with a casual conversation in Spanish to practice speaking and listening skills.
- Review (10 minutes): Go over previous lessons, addressing any questions or difficulties.
- New Material or School Homework (20-30 minutes): Introduce new vocabulary, grammar, and cultural topics using engaging materials such as videos, articles, and interactive exercises. Additionally, help with school homework if needed.
- Practice Activities (20 minutes): Conduct speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises related to the new material.
- Wrap-Up (5-10 minutes): Summarize the lesson, assign homework, and set goals for the next session.

- What Sets Me Apart:
My lessons are highly personalized, ensuring that each student receives the attention and support they need to succeed. As a native Spanish speaker, I bring authenticity and cultural depth to my lessons. Additionally, I utilize a variety of engaging materials and activities to keep lessons dynamic and enjoyable.

- Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons cater to a wide range of students, with a particular focus on kids. I primarily work with elementary, middle, and high school students, creating fun and interactive lessons that capture their interest and make learning enjoyable. Whether your child is just starting to learn Spanish or looking to improve their skills, my lessons are designed to meet their specific needs and goals.

Looking forward to guiding your child on their journey to Spanish fluency!
