In my search to find a person to teach me private beginner cello lessons, I discovered Elisa as the Director and Teacher of the Oregon City Music Academy. I have always wanted to learn to play Cello and after speaking by phone and meeting in person for my first introductory lesson, it became clear I made the right choice. Elisa takes the time to listen, and observe, explain and demonstrate each small step while guiding me patiently through the basics and encourages me to keep the big picture in mind! I am approaching 70 years old and have had some health issues. I didn’t think I could learn to play cello. I do now! Elisa constantly reminds me of my progress that’s difficult to see and feel when first beginning. As a retired school teacher of 35 years, I appreciate and recognize the skills, abilities, compassion and intuition of a great teacher! Elisa is that teacher….I will keep practicing…thank you Elisa!

Elisa is very patient and intuitive on what my son needs in order to get the most out of his lesson. He is 10 and sometimes his mind wanders, she is great at letting him explore music creatively but also ensure he learns fundamental skills. Highly recommend!
