About Katie
As a qualified teacher with many years of experience (including current experience) and approximately seven years experience as a tutor, I have real expertise in tutoring primary age children with a range of abilities. I have teaching and tutoring experience across all 3 primary key stages, I am phonics trained but also have an in-depth insight into the demands of the Year 6 curriculum. I really care about my students and work hard to meet their needs and make tuition a rewarding and enjoyable experience.

I have been successfully tutoring for around 7 years and have been working in education for 15 years. Importantly, I still teach part time in school so have up-to-date skills and experience. I have taught from Foundation up to Year 6 and have an excellent knowledge of the curriculum. I tutor across the primary age range.
I am adept at assessing priorities and gaps in learning and tailoring an individualised program of learning according. I am always calm, positive, friendly and encouraging in my approach.
My lessons range from 45 minutes to two hours (one hour maximum online).
I have a Masters in Creative Writing and am particularly passionate about this subject, I have helped many reluctant writers to gain confidence, have fun and become enthusiastic writers.
