Richard has been my teacher for over 7 years now and he has been the so helpful in my journey. He always adapts his teaching style to how you learn individually, as well as changing the lessons depending on if you want to chase grades, learn timeless pieces or ask him to transcribe songs you really like. Whether I am at a point where I am really enthusiastic or not about guitar, he always accommodates. He’s always been really flexible and clear about his schedule and since going to uni, he’s been really accommodating in changing the lesson times every week to fit my hectic schedule. Every lesson I’ve able to catch up with him and get to know him well over these years. I’d recommend Richard to anyone looking for a tutor, no matter what skill level you’re at.

Rich has been my Bass tutor for well over 5 years now . He taught both my kids to play guitar/ukulele, they both enjoyed learning so I thought I’d give the bass a go. Richard is a wonderful tutor who knows just how to encourage beginner musicians and can help them achieve a much higher standard of playing than they would on their own. He is sympathetic and constructive in his criticism and advice, and always helps you feel the success in your efforts. His knowledge of guitars is astonishingly broad; as his appreciation of every form of music. He can adapt to whatever style or guitar player you want to learn and has made enormous improvements to the playing styles of my son and I, to the point where we compose and release our own records, something I would never have dreamed of years ago. He is very easy to get on with, an all round nice chap and is only occasionally upstaged in his lessons by the arrival of one or two of his cats!

Richard is the most patient and understanding guitar teacher i’ve had. he explains everything thoroughly and makes sure the student understands what they’re doing. when a mistake is made or a question is asked he patient and explains and shows examples until the error is corrected. for his affordable guitar lessons and amazing teaching, he’s a bargain worth taking!
