About Harrie
I have 22 years of experience in the biology. I received my master’s degree from Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands in Biology with a specialisation in cell and molecular biology. I received a PhD degree in Genetics from Michigan State University in the United States. Since than I have been a post-doctoral research scientist. I have extensive experience with teaching students. I have given college lectures and I have been a laboratory instructor at Michigan State University. During my time as a post-doctoral researcher I have supervised many students and technicians in a laboratory setting. Besides this I have published numerous manuscripts in leading scientific journals and presented research at international conferences. I am highly trained in explaining complicated scientific concepts in an understandable way to various audiences.

This means, I would like to know how you learn best, so I can adapt my lessons to this. I strongly believe that it’s very important for the learning process for students to think about questions about the subject instead of only memorizing. Therefore, I encourage students to ask questions. For structured lessons, I like to provide you with an outline of the content beforehand.
