I taught Luke Latin literature in both his sixth form years at school, taking him through the Cicero and Ovid AS texts, where he earned a very high AS mark. He coped very well with the Tacitus and Virgil A2 set texts as well and scored very high marks on the prose element of his A2 exam in particular. His literary responses displayed not only an impressive understanding of the Latin, but also an increasingly mature reading of the tone and context of the literature, allowing regularly perceptive and well-argued responses on paper. Arguably, his language at school was even stronger than his literature and he appears to be excelling in this area at KCL as well.
