About Ana
I have been an English teacher in language schools and private classes since I started my degree in language and literature at the University of São Paulo. I have experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults. I completed my graduate studies in literature, master's degree and doctorate, also at USP, in 2018.
Throughout my experience, I practiced different teaching and learning methods, reflecting about them. These approaches included:
- the communicative methodology at the Yázigi Institute,
- working with the Scientific Learning Corporation's resources, the softwares Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant, which are based on neuroplasticity and distributed in Brazil by the Casa Cuca startup,
- and the International School's bilingual education proposal.
I have also taken part in several international events such as the BEST Bilingual Summit (São Paulo, Brazil) and the Scientific Learning Visionary Conference (Tucson, Arizona). During my graduate studies, I often went to international events in Universities, such as Brown and Princeton, that discussed literature in foreign contexts. My international experience also happens on a daily basis via online teaching. I teach Brazilian students who live in the USA as well as students around the world who use English as a second language.
My greatest qualities as a teacher are empathy for the students' needs and attention to their development. For this reason, I make lesson plans based on the students' point of view. I also carry out assessments, so that the students feel confident about their learning process. I am passionate about the English language and cultures, seeking to motivate students to continue their studies in order to speak, travel, work, or study in English.

My English communication courses range from basic to advanced levels with a focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing. I also work with the preparation of candidates for English proficiency exams. In addition, I provide didactic interventions, so that students have academic support and better preparation for exams at school and at university.
My lesson plans always focus on the students' goals: speaking English; traveling worldwide; and communicating in English when studying or working. Feel free to tell me about your plans or your children's needs with the English language.
I choose materials carefully and I also create them. I work with books such as English File, American Headway, Side by Side, among others. I often present games and the latest international news to exlpore in class.
I pay attention to the development of students. I carry out assessments so they can get feedback on how they are progressing with their learning. In previous work experiences, my supervisors have always praised me for improving the students' results and for creating learning resources and assessments.
