Hello, I’m Will, a dedicated trumpet teacher with a passion for helping students unlock their musical potential!
My journey with the trumpet began at the age of 9, and it has taken me from early lessons to performances across the UK. My teaching style is fun, encouraging, and adaptable, designed to build confidence and inspire progress at every level.

My approach to trumpet teaching is centred around a supportive and personalised learning experience. I tailor each lesson to the student's needs, helping them achieve both technical skill and musicality. Drawing from my training at the Junior Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, as well as my experience performing across the country, I bring a depth of classical expertise and a touch of jazz influence into my lessons.
Teaching Techniques and Methodology:
I incorporate the Cichowicz method, renowned for its focus on breathing, tone production, and embouchure development, combined with other tailored techniques to suit individual goals. I believe in a holistic approach, balancing technical exercises with musical pieces that engage and inspire. My teaching style is positive, encouraging and, more than anything, fun!
Lesson Structure and Duration:
Lessons are typically 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the student's age, experience, and goals. I recommend 30 minute lessons for younger beginners and 60 minutes for intermediate and advanced students.
Qualifications and Experience:
With years of training from the Royal Academy of Music and The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where I won the Trumpet Prize and several chamber music awards, I bring a high standard of expertise to each lesson.
